Desert, City, Sea cliffs, Mountains, Redwood Forests, Lush Farmland. California is a land of many different places!
Yesterday, I got home from a week long trip out to the west coast. During this trip, my girlfriend and I drove from LA to SF with some fun stops along the way. On Thursday morning, we picked up a Mini Cooper S (manual) in Palmdale, CA. This was a nice 2 hour train ride via Metrolink from Union Station. Then we drove through Angeles NF and Mulholland Highway down to Malibu. From there we followed HWY 1 up to Morro Bay for the night. There was a great farmers market in San Luis Obispo that night and a wonderful place to stay in Morro Bay. Friday morning was a foggy jaunt up the PCH, with stops in Big Sur and Big Basin Redwood State Park and finally SF. Saturday was a driving day in SF which included a giant C&C meetup on Treasure Island. Then Sunday was a drive up to Napa Valley followed by the long journey back to LA on Monday. Tuesday I returned the car to Palmdale and Wednesday morning I flew home to the cold. Great trip and I am excited to be going back in a month! Below are all of my pictures and write ups for this trip. Mini Cooper review to come out soon.

Sure does, I learned more than anything that I cannot deal with front wheel drive in a fun vehicle. The power was definitely nice but just the way the handling dynamics worked on the throttle didn’t make me happy. Maybe I am just unfamiliar with how to push a FWD car hard but something doesn’t seem right about it for canyon carving. I had way more fun in the overly heavy, slower, and way worse at turning in general Camaro. The redeeming factor was of course the transmission but FWD really bothered me.
